Our Story
UrbanSpin was founded in South Africa out of a simple frustration: finding a trustworthy local service provider — a plumber, electrician, or car wash — was harder than it should be. Word-of-mouth recommendations didn't always reach you when you needed them, and general online searches returned a mix of outdated listings, unanswered calls, and providers who were too far away to be useful.
We built UrbanSpin to solve this. By combining real customer reviews with location-aware search and direct WhatsApp contact, we created a directory that works the way South Africans actually find and engage with services.
What We Do
UrbanSpin is a local services directory available as a mobile app (Android) and on the web. Consumers can search across 50+ categories — from plumbing and electrical to beauty, automotive, fitness, and professional services — browse real customer ratings, and contact providers directly via WhatsApp or phone. There are no booking fees, no commissions, and no middlemen.
For service providers, UrbanSpin offers a business dashboard where they can manage their listing, respond to reviews, and track enquiries. Getting listed on UrbanSpin puts your business in front of customers who are actively looking for what you offer, right now, near your location.
